Dallas-Forth Worth had the second-largest increase in population in the state and in the nation, according to the Census Bureau.
Dallas-Fort Worth gained 144,704 people from July 1, 2014, to July 1, 2015, bringing its population to more than 7.1 million.
The Houston area climbed past 6.6 million with 159,083 new residents.
